A lesson on accountability
If you are unhappy with your life
its your fault
it may come across as harsh or rude, but its the truth
this morning while doing 2hr of elliptical i was thinking about quite a few things, and accountability was one of them
Specifically how we seem to always be surprised when we find ourselves in a situation that we don’t like
Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of situations where even if we do everything right we still end up on the wrong side of the road
some things just cannot be controlled or predicted
But the opposite is also true
there is a sea of things that we can indeed control and predict
If you spend years smoking and suddenly find yourself with cancer
you don’t have the privilege of acting surprised and playing the victim
while this obviously sucks and its not something i wish on anyone
it is the reality of things
If you spend most of your time eating crap, living like a couch potato
you don’t have the privilege to act surprised and playing the victim once you notice the number on the scale has gone way up
You deserve the consequences of your actions.
Again, you might do everything right and still find yourself in an horrible situation like having cancer
That doesn't mean you deserve it because one time you lied to your parents
Its just bad luck at that stage.
While playing the victim in that case would not really help you either, it would be justified in a way
All of this is to say:
Try your best to put in the right inputs so that you may get the right outputs,
Avoid doing things that you know are bringing you down a bad road.
Because when you suddenly find yourself at a dead end, it will be your fault.
