A feeling.
The idea of less being more is one that i did not really understand or bothered to understand until very recently,
it did not align with the ideology that i had usually set for myself, which was to just do more, constantly
But there is one thing that is not so obvious at first sight about less being more.
In order to tell you this, i have to tell you a little story of how all of this happened.
lets go back about a month ago, i was uploading daily videos on youtube and producing content like a machine, thinking that i just had to create more,
Eventually, even before burning out i felt like there was something missing from my content, there was a missing piece of the puzzle i was building,
I wouldnt find this piece of the puzzle until much later,
5th april,
not long ago.
I decided to re watch interstellar that evening, without expecting anything out of it.
One of the best movies ever made honestly.
By the end of it, it left me with a feeling, a feeling that i wanted to capture and share
a feeling of possibility, a feeling of wanting to do something,
I cannot even explain it properly with words, but that isnt the point
I got to journaling a out this feeling here and how i felt as if truly we can re direct the future of other people because of our actions.
When it came to that i instantly thought of my youtube channel and personal brand, so i kept on writing and eventually got myself to writing this sentence here.
When it comes to helping people or trying to do something for others, wether this is with words or actions, what you do or say actually matters very little
What really matters is how what you have said or done makes you and other people feel.
So i thought about it and thought of how i could brinf more of this feeling into my videos,
and there is was, the answer looking back at me.
It is the idea of doing less but more.
When it comes to videos, i felt like the spark was gone because there was no passion behind it, i was just creating for the sake of it, that is not the way to go about it.
So if i wanted to bring more of that feeling into it, i had to do something different, i had to start spending more time in every single video,
wether it has to do with scripting, brainstorming, choosing shots, and all that comes with it.
Ultimatly tho doing this would mean that the output would seem lesser compared to uploading daily, but that is where the problem is.
Your focus should not be on how much output can you do with the least amount of effort, rather you should focus on how much input you could give with your max effort.
So the idea of less is more is one that is atrted to understanf more once i made that perspective shift, when I realized that i should focus not on outputs but inputs.
as doing more work for just one singular video definetly seems as if you are doing less from the outside, but really you are working even harder on one thing at a time.
making it effectively less, but more and better.
